  • Being part of the global Sony group will open up the opportunities to work together with other Sony group companies including opportunities for business trips to Japan.

Job Short Description

Business Development Manager / Senior Manager

Responsibilities

  • Development of Web3 Strategy within the Region
    • As an early founding member, build non-Japan business models with focus on Asia
    • Develop hypotheses and validate market entry through research on Blockchain/Web3 in the local region
    • Define value propositions to customers/partner companies based on an understanding of our group’s assets
  • Strategic Formulation and Execution of Business Models
    • Experiment with business hypotheses and acquire initial customers
    • Collaborate with colleagues in Japan (including JV partners) and establish partnerships, including external alliances
    • Formulate and implement project/business plans and drive sales
  • Consulting sales of Web3 products/services under development in Sony to business clients within the region
  • Establishment of Business Operations Structure
    • Manage startup operations and plan back-office operations, including hiring
    • Build a team with long-term growth orientation

Reporting Line

  • Report to the Managing Director in the Singapore office.
  • No staffs reporting to this position initially as the organization is small.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development within the technology sector
  • Strong ability in business model conceptualization
  • Experience in Web3/Crypto (Business experience is preferred. However, individual experience in using blockchain and cryptocurrencies is also acceptable)
  • Experience in developing and establishing global businesses, including customer acquisition through sales consulting, and sourcing partners to meet customers’ requirement
  • Understanding of the business logic and decision-making process of large corporations.
  • Experience in solving management challenges by taking initiative and involving others in an uncertain business environment
  • Proficiency in communication in English, including the ability to understand customer needs, to make business proposals, and to negotiate effectively

Desirable Conditions

  • Work experience in Southeast Asia
  • Understanding of the business models in the Web2 industry
  • Connections with the blockchain / web3 community

  • Singapore (The office in the Bugis commercial district)
