Job Short Description

Responsibilities

- Design and develop modules and payment methods for fiat payment rails (Visa, Mastercard), SEPA and FPS - accountable for code quality in production
- Ensuring scalability and high availability of product
- Determining root cause for the most complex software issues and developing practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions
- Fix intermittent bugs in existing software
- Building, operating, and ensuring the security of the product, namely APIs, back-end, and infrastructure
- Evaluating product code according to specification and partner with Product Managers to gather/refine function and non functional product requirements (e.g. functionalities, speed, security standards, etc)
- Partnering with other Software Engineers, Product Designers, Product Ops, Product -Managers and Software Architect to build, ship and maintain code - managing all aspects of architecture and writing ADRS (architecture decision records)
- One of the primary metric is time to delivery


Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics or equivalent technical experience
- >7yrs of software engineering lived experience building APIs, products and services
- Proficient with Node.js development - minimum 5 years (Languages can be learnt; we care more about your general engineering skill than knowledge of a particular language or framework)
- Profound experience in designing and developing secure APIs (in RESTful, GraphQL)
- Proficient in OAuth, JWT, CI/CD
- Knowledgeable with SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (whatever suits for the job) databases.
- Familiarity with programming best practices related to the handling of financial information and processing payments
- Understanding of appropriate data protection and security measures for handling private financial data
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner
- Engineering expert capabilities of challenging the reasoning of other engineers
- Experience in writing Unit Tests, Integration Tests, End-to-end tests, performance tests, chaos engineering
- Good knowledge of standard algorithms and data structures
- Remote role - accepting applications from anywhere within 3H +/- GMT time zone
