You Are the Creator:

• Produce software, service design, and implementation for distributed systems
• Develop applications using Java in AWS
• Strong feeling of ownership for each step of the software development life cycle
• Maintain a well-tested codebase with continuous integration and coverage reporting
• Optimize for maximum speed and scalability
• Cool headed as your services might be trading millions of assets
• Work in small, autonomous teams with short-release cycles
• Share your knowledge and help the team evolve best practices

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Experience in developing multi-threaded applications using Java
• Good understanding of one of the following modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
• Good apprehension of the concept of the micro services paradigm
• Good understanding of API concepts - both design and integration wise
• Previous experience with micro-benchmarking and application performance analysis
• Familiar with low-overhead communication protocols and good understanding of the OSI layer
• Experience with event streaming platforms (such as Kafka) and event-driven applications
• Previous experience with non-relational databases, document storages and data-driven systems at large scale

Nice-to-have (you):

• It's good if you have some experience with the Datadog platform
• It's even better if you can produce waste-free code (with disabled garbage collection)
• In-depth understanding of space and complexity of algorithms and data structures (ringbuffers, trees, etc)
• Previous experience with high-frequency (trading) system will be considered as a big plus
