Job Short Description

What you will be doing

• Supporting Agoric-hosted services necessary for the development and operation of our production chains
  • Management of follower and archive nodes for a debugging resource and production service utilized by our team and public customers
  • Test network creation, maintenance, and ongoing compatibility support for full-chain testing environments for validation of performance, economic behavior, and general functionality 
  • Optimization of CI resources to best equip Engineering with ongoing quality and performance data
• Development of and response to automated alerting for Agoric-hosted services
  • Participation in rotation for Security Engineering on-call services
  • Chain monitoring automation and response, ensuring we’re first at the scene of a production incident
  • Monitoring of chain dynamics, including staking distribution, transaction volume, and other business-critical metrics
• Optimization of the experience for node operators and validators by living on and creating tooling
  • Development of runbooks and documentation for node operators with instructions on how to start from scratch and recover from know chain issues
  • Creation and operation of an artifact uploading service for debugging assistance during a chain issue
• Creation of tooling to support data requests around our production chain in support of Agoric requirements
  • Historical balance exports for an address
  • Automation and validation of token grants
  • Generation of reports around the performance of product features to enable strategic decisions for the company
  • Customized reports for additional business needs as they arise

What we look for in you

• BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• 6+ years of experience as an SRE or back-end software developer
• Familiarity with blockchain, cryptography, and smart contract languages and frameworks
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript & bash
• Experience working with systems design and open-source projects

Nice to haves

• Experience with Cosmos/Tendermint
• Contributed to open-source projects

Compensation Range: $175,000-$275,000 base salary based on skillset/experience.
